New Resource Available: 2025 Ethics Case Materials

Each year, the AICP Ethics Committee develops a set of real-world-inspired case studies designed to spark meaningful discussion around ethics in the planning profession. The 2025 Ethics Cases of the Year are now available, and we encourage you to take full advantage of this valuable resource.

This year’s cases are based on real inquiries and complaints received by the Ethics Officer in 2024, with identifying details removed to focus on the lessons at hand. The four scenarios tackle timely and complex ethical challenges planners face today:

  • Ex Parte Communications
  • He Said/She Said/They Said
  • Private Sector Consultant Conflict of Interest
  • Abuse of Power
