Planning and Development Manager

Under the supervision of the Community Development Director, the Planning and Development Manager is an integral part of the Community Development Department. The individual performs a wide range of complex duties associated with development services and includes: managing all current planning activities and coordinating with building services. The position provides support between the divisions of planning/zoning, building, neighborhood compliance, and sustainability. The position also interacts regularly with other departments to provide exceptional services to the community.
The individual shall possess a mastery of office skills, exercise initiative and judgment, make decisions within the scope of assigned authority. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to achieve the job’s essential functions. The individual also performs other duties that may be required by law consistent with the City Charter, the ordinances and resolutions of the City Council and the directions of the City Manager.
