Senior Climate Workforce Specialist

Brendle Group seeks a full-time Senior Climate Workforce Specialist with five or more years of experience to join our Planning & Engagement team. We are searching for a workforce specialist with experience developing talent pathways for climate-related jobs at the community, regional, and state scale with a degree, certification, or training in economics, labor/employment, training/education, and/or workforce development.

With offices in Fort Collins and Denver, CO, we would prefer a Colorado-based candidate to support local and regional customers. We offer flexible schedules and hybrid (remote and in-office) work opportunities. Position Responsibilities and Estimated Time Allocation

  • Workforce Development Program Design and Delivery (70%)
    • Lead and support execution of our growing portfolio of workforce development projects and programs.
    • Manage workforce development programs, including budgets, reimbursements, staffing allocation, client communications, and fulfillment of contract obligations.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the entire workforce ecosystem including local and state agencies, contractor trade networks, and residential and commercial HVAC workforce for energy efficiency and building electrification, to advance workforce initiatives.
  • Support other Planning and Engagement Activities (20%)
    • Contribute to the development of plans, strategies, and policies for a variety of other sustainability topics that intersect with workforce development (e.g., energy efficiency, transportation electrification, climate resilience, etc.).
    • Manage and support tasks for client and internal projects.
    • Facilitate and support workshop delivery with cross-functional teams.
  • Support the Company and other Service Teams (10%)
    • Support the implementation of tactics to embed workforce development principles and best practices across company and client projects and programs.
    • Support development, tracking, and reporting of workforce development outcomes at the company level.
    • Support capacity-building efforts for colleagues at Brendle Group to grow their skills in workforce development.
    • Participate in company-wide meetings and other collaboration opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Five or more years of combined experience working in either climate action or workforce development, with a minimum of two years’ experience in developing talent pathways for climate-related jobs at the community, regional, or state scale.
  • Degree, certification or training in economics, labor/employment, education/training and/or workforce development.
  • Experience in project or program management, including administering funds and reimbursable expenses to contractors and network partners.
  • Experience in program design.
  • Specific expertise in residential and commercial HVAC workforce for energy efficiency and building electrification.
  • Passion for climate justice and equity, helping to remove systemic workforce barriers and developing channels for greater diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workforce including access to and success in the climate workforce.
  • Access to a personal vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience collaborating directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to present to, and engage with, diverse audiences in ways that are culturally appropriate and connect to lived experiences while also representing program objectives.
  • Ability to communicate by phone, email, online video platforms, in person in one-to-one, or group settings.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience with report writing.
  • Willingness and comfort in engaging with and traveling to various communities across Colorado.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Modeling capabilities using IMPLAN and other customizable labor/economic modeling tools to:
    • Quantify the current climate workforce and projected gaps to meet policy goals.
    • Understand labor/workforce outcomes from different funding levels and financial instruments, including utility rebates.
  • Experience with analytical approaches and tools to support planning and engagement (e.g., surveys, response coding, qualitative and quantitative data analysis).
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English in both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with stakeholder facilitation, focus groups, and other engagement techniques.
  • Experience serving on a workforce development board or other non-profit/agency board supporting workforce development.
  • Experience working for, collaborating with local and/or state agencies supporting workforce development.
  • Experience with curriculum design and training delivery.
  • Experience with training/education for residential efficiency and electrification retrofits.

Salary and Benefits

Brendle Group offers a flexible and collaborative workplace with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package. Based on position requirements and candidate experience, the base salary range for this role is $84,530-$126,170. We are open to a full or part-time position for the right candidate; the salary range shown is for full-time employment. Benefits include:
