The Division of Housing (DOH) Office of Housing Recovery (OHR) provides housing recovery support as part of the agency’s larger disaster response effort. This includes a responsibility to staff task forces when needed, respond quickly in a fast-moving environment and effectively stand-up housing response and recovery programs quickly that meet the local community needs. The DOH must be positioned to research and catalog best practices which can be applied to future disaster housing recovery efforts. The OHR works with public and private entities, nonprofit organizations, and public housing authorities to deliver safe, reliable interim and long-term housing assistance after a disaster; to provide safe, sanitary, decent housing for low and moderate income persons and families throughout the state through allocation of funds from federal and state grant programs; and delivery of technical assistance and training to applicants and grantees.
Under the auspices of the Office of Housing Recovery, the Disaster Housing Recovery Program Manager will offer services to agency employees as well as other state agencies and local governments as the subject matter expert in housing recovery in the areas of Risk Management, Emergency Management, and Safety and Disaster Management.
We are recruiting for a knowledgeable and skilled individual that can provide oversight and guidance for the Division’s response to disasters. The position will coordinate the agency’s emergency response, recovery and preparedness efforts. As the subject matter expert, the individual selected will work closely with the Colorado Resiliency Office (CRO) and represent the DOH at the State of Colorado Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during a state emergency. Additionally, this position will act as the lead for the DOH response during a disaster and will coordinate with other agencies to provide recovery services and represent the Division on the State Recovery Task Force as the lead for the Housing Recovery Support function.
