Tasks include coordinating and supplementing a streamlined development review process, acting as an affordable housing liaison to facilitate development review applications, responding to customer and applicant inquiries, managing project timelines, and documenting review times. This position will work closely with other departments in a coordinated effort to remove barriers to housing development. The position may assist with drafting Development Code, long-range planning activities, policy development, and workflow process analysis and procedure updates. Daily tasks could include research and analysis in areas such as Site Plan Review, Subdivision Review, Long-Range Planning, and Zoning Administration, as well as assisting with Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals land use cases. Responsibilities may encompass reviewing submissions in accordance with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and ordinances, communicating these ordinances to developers, architects, and the public, and providing written reports and comments on development reviews, with occasional public presentations. The Housing Development Review Planner also manages land use and zoning requests, responds to inquiries from citizens and applicants via telephone, teleconference, and in person, clarifies complex planning procedures, regulations, and code requirements, and performs site inspections related to land development, all contributing to the creation of an appealing and economically sustainable environment for those living in, working in, or visiting the City of Greeley.
