We have an opportunity for a dynamic professional Planning Manager in a community offering outdoor adventures, amazing scenery, a remarkable quality of life, beautiful sunshine, and four full seasons of fun. This position requires an experienced planner who can focus on multiple priorities, administer the Land Use Code, work with developers, present reports to the Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Board, work on long range planning efforts, address immediate planning needs and supervise two staff members as a leader. The ideal candidate will complement our Development Department team and bring in the experience needed to handle a mirid of day to day and long-range planning tasks. General Duties include:
- Directs the Planning Division operations and supervises staff members as a leader,
- Prepares meeting agendas; participates in public meetings and public engagement events,
- Delegates staff assignments and monitors work quality,
- Coordinates planning and division activities with other departments,
- Maintains on-going comprehensive planning processes and procedures,
- Processes petitions and other information associated with annexations,
- Meets and confers with elected and appointed officials, other government agencies, community and business representatives and the general public on various aspects of planning and zoning,
- Reviews subdivision, site plans and development plans for code compliance and forwards recommendations to Planning Commission and/or Town Council,
- Directs or conducts feasibility studies; completes current and long-range planning studies with required research and analysis of social and economic trends,
- Prepares and submits division budgets; monitors fiscal activity to assure conformity with established budget constraints,
- Develops local historic preservation programs and serves as the Historic Preservation Officer for the Historic Preservation Board and the Certified Local Government program.
