The ideal Community Planner candidate will bring the skills, experience, and expertise needed to serve as a trusted advisor on all aspects of land use, planning, zoning, and municipal management—particularly in matters related to land development and entitlement. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of the development review process and land use laws, along with strong knowledge of land development regulations, research methods, data analysis, infrastructure, housing, environmental and legislative initiatives, and emerging planning trends.

This role requires someone who can build strong, lasting relationships with client communities by serving as a subject matter expert in community development, land development, and entitlements. Clients will rely on the Community Planner for informed recommendations and effective solutions to their planning challenges.
The ideal candidate will also be highly organized and capable of managing multiple communities simultaneously. They should be comfortable leading a small team of planners, delegating responsibilities, and overseeing tasks while keeping timelines and budgets on track. Most importantly, the Community Planner will understand that every community is unique. By actively listening and learning about each community’s specific goals, challenges, and character, they will provide tailored, strategic guidance that aligns with each community’s broader economic, social, and environmental priorities.
