The City and County of Broomfield is pleased to announce a job opening for a full-time, Senior or Principal Planner within the Planning Division of the Community Development Department. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative team working to serve the planning and development review needs of our community. This planner will manages applications for development review through the City's development review process, including but not limited to, re-zoning, planned unit development plans, subdivisions, site development plans, uses by special review, building permits and urban renewal site plans, as well as assist with possible long range planning efforts and code updates. The working schedule is generally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Senior Planner
Training - Master's degree from an accredited college or university in city planning, land use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, or related design profession.
Experience – Three years of progressively responsible professional planning experience in municipal or private sector planning. Direct experience in current or urban planning preferred.
Principal Planner
Training – Master's degree from an accredited college or university in city planning, land use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, or related design profession.
Experience - Four years of progressively responsible public planning experience in municipal or private sector urban planning.
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the Necessary Applicant Traits.
SALARY RANGES:
Senior Planner: $42.57 - $57.59/hour
Principal Planner: $50.77 - $68.69/hour
We are a dynamic office providing an engaging and innovative work culture. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our team. This position will work directly with colleagues, residents, the business community, professional developers, boards and commissions, elected officials, and others on land use, zoning, planning, development review and related topics. Our ideal candidate will be capable of managing complex development review cases while providing timely, high-quality customer service and attention to detail. Experience in long-range planning is a plus. This is currently a hybrid position working part-time in the office and part-time at home, in-state.
