2026 Chapter Award Nominations are OPEN!
The APA Colorado Chapter Awards program celebrates the people, plans, and projects making a meaningful impact in communities across the state. Each year, the program honors outstanding achievements in planning that demonstrate innovation, implementation, and a commitment to creating better places for all.
Award categories recognize a wide range of planning efforts, including:
- Comprehensive Planning
- Neighborhood & Small Area Planning
- Sustainability & Environmental Planning
- Transportation Planning
- Urban Design & Placemaking
- Economic Development
- Public Outreach & Community Engagement
- Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives
Individual awards also highlight excellence in leadership and service, such as:
- Planner of the Year
- Emerging Planner
- Student Project or Achievement
- Leadership & Service Awards
The call for nominations is NOW OPEN, and award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Colorado Planning Conference in Keystone, Colorado.
Nominations are evaluated based on criteria such as originality, quality, public participation, effectiveness, and overall community benefit. Winning entries represent best practices in planning and serve as inspiration for communities throughout Colorado.
