Position Summary
The Associate Planner supports consulting projects and program delivery across a range of sustainability topics including energy efficiency, building and transportation decarbonization, workforce development, climate adaptation and resilience, water, and land use. This position is based in the Denver metro region and will be part of the Planning & Engagement Team, reporting to Sarah Kaye, Lead Planner. The role supports multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of stakeholder engagement, community events, research and report writing, presentation production, strategy development, and tracking and analysis. The ideal candidate detail-oriented, adaptable, a critical thinker, and technologically curious, with a strong interest in advancing equitable, climate-focused outcomes. Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish, including verbal and written communication is required for this position.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in planning, community engagement or local government.
• Experience supporting, organizing, or delivering stakeholder engagement processes and/or community events.
• Written and verbal bilingual proficiency (advanced/full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish)
• Demonstrated ability to stay organized and manage multiple assignments with guidance in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting project delivery tasks, including research, data tracking, analysis, and preparation of reports, presentations, and related deliverables.
• Experience using digital tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Forms, Survey123, etc.) to collect, analyze, and synthesize community/stakeholder input (qualitative and quantitative).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
• Proven ability to identify and implement improvements and efficiencies in organizational processes and procedures.
• Exercises creative and critical thinking to produce high-quality work products that meet project and client needs when provided general direction.
